These Simple Steps Will Show You How To Create A Classic Smoky Eye

The smoky eye is a classic makeup look that will never go out of fashion. This look may seem difficult to create if you are not a makeup expert. We’ve made it simple for you. Our LovelySkin aesthetician Kristen demonstrates in this video how to create a smokey eye using five simple steps.

Prime

This look is impossible without priming. It would be a shame to create the perfect look only for it to crease, smear, or fade. Apply Younblood Stay Put Eye Prime on your entire eyelid. This will give you a blank canvas to apply your eye makeup.

Shadow

Then, apply a light shade of your choice from the lash lineup to your crease. Kristen uses the light gold color from the GloMetallic Smoky Eye Kit in this video. Using the same brush, apply a darker shade of gold to half of your eyelid.

Blend

Using a blending tool like Glo Minerals Eye Blender Brush, bring a darker shade into the crease of your eye, creating a “V” shape. Blend the eyeshadow by using small circular movements to soften harsh lines. Kristen uses the dark bronze eyeshadow shade from the same quad.

Line

Line your upper and lower lash line with the darkest shade in the palette using an eyeliner or brow brush such as Glo Mineral Eyeliner/Brow brush.

Lashes

Then, curl your lashes before applying two coats. Kristen uses Outrageous Lash Mineral Lengthening Mascara in the video.

It’s as simple as that! This look is versatile and can be worn for an office day, a casual evening out, or even a night on the town. Try out different colors to create your unique style.
