Contra-Indications to Clinical Dermal Rolling

  • Roaccutane/Accutane/Isotane – guests must be 12 months post treatment with these drugs.
  • Active acne
  • Vitamin A/Tretinoin Preparations (Retin-A, Renova, Stieva-A, Retrieve); Hydroquinone; skin bleaching agents (Kojic Acid, Azelaic Acid) – must be discontinued 4 days pre and post a clinical treatment
  • Antibiotics; blood thinning Medication (Warfarin, Coumadin, Jantoven, Marevan, Waren); contraceptive pill; fish oil supplements; Ginseng; Gingko biloba; Aspirin; Alcohol – increases the chances of minor bleeding during treatment and possible bruising post treatment.
  • Active cosmedical and cosmeceutical products should be avoided for 48 hours after a clinical treatment:
    • Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) including glycolic and lactic acids
    • Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) including salicylic acid
    • Vitamin C (Ascorbic/L-Ascorbic Acid)
    • Benzoyl Peroxide
    • Vitamin A including Tretinoin, Retinol, Retinyl Palmitate
    • Skin bleaching agents including hydroquinone, Kojic Acid, Azelaic Acid
    • Alcohol content greater than 6%
  • Avoid highly perfumed cosmetics or harsh cleansing agents such as soap or alkaline foaming cleansers
